‘Obsolete’ is a hack and slash game set in a cyberpunk world, with the project being concept art of the game’s main villain; a cyborg whom’s mind corrupted after being abandoned to decay over many years.
I plan to create one large detailed sheet for the design. There will be three drawings of the villain showcasing layers of the character’s design. The first drawing will be underwear, the character in simple under layers but more with the intention to show the arms, legs, and body to show any tattoos, scars and prosthetic limbs in the full. The second drawing will have over wear, such as a jacket/coat, shoes, trousers and off lights. The third drawing will be the accessory/finalised drawing, with added accessories such as jewellery, weapons, and on lights. Alongside those three drawings, I will draw a couple of the accessories on the character that stand out, such as their weapon and certain parts of their outfit separately so they can be looked at in more detail.

I will first start off with sketching ideas for my villain, especially experimenting around with robotic limbs and implants and how to fit them on a character body without them looking off. Once I’ve dabbled with enough ideas and happily combined them to a character design, I will move onto colour ideas, testing out colour palettes to see which works best. Then once I’ve chosen my preferred colour scheme, I will move onto my final presentation board for the character design. I will most likely do all my outlining on paper, as I find it so much easier to draw an outline traditionally than digitally, then moved to sharpening it and colouring it digitally.

My presentation for my piece will be done like a turnaround sheet, with the three main drawings, and annotated important accessories around, as well as even a detailed head shot. I will present the name of the project to one side, with the character’s name on the opposite side, and will likely make the background a light toned colour and make it a gradient, to help the character stand out even more so. I will as well include the character’s colour palette to the side too, this will help display the colours more effectively which I believe is useful for a character sheet.
